Add a Spa to Your Existing Pool in Venice & Southwest Florida
Pool Creations designs and builds attached spas that integrate seamlessly with your existing pool — spillover waterfalls, glass tile, and full automation.
Quick Answer
Can a spa be added to an existing pool?
Yes. Pool Creations adds attached spas to existing pools throughout Southwest Florida. The spa is designed to integrate with the existing pool shell and equipment. Feasibility depends on available space, existing pool shape, and equipment pad location. Pool Creations evaluates each situation during a on-site consultation.
Spa Addition Process
Site Assessment & Design
Pool Creations visits your property, evaluates the available space adjacent to the existing pool, and designs a spa that integrates with the pool's shape and the overall outdoor space.
Permitting
A spa addition requires a building permit. Pool Creations pulls all required permits and manages the permitting process.
Excavation
The area adjacent to the existing pool is excavated. The existing pool shell is carefully evaluated to ensure the new spa can be properly connected.
Gunite Shell
The new spa shell is formed and gunited. The spa is connected to the existing pool shell with a spillover weir or bond beam.
Plumbing & Equipment
Spa plumbing is connected to the existing equipment pad. A dedicated spa heater may be added to allow independent temperature control.
Interior Finish & Tile
The spa interior is finished with the same material as the pool (or a complementary finish). Waterline tile and coping are installed to match the pool.
Automation Integration
The spa is integrated with the Pentair IntelliCenter automation system. Spa jets, temperature, and lights are controlled from the same smartphone app as the pool.
Spillover Spa vs In-Ground Spa
A spillover (raised) spa is built at a higher elevation than the pool — water spills over the edge into the pool below, creating a waterfall effect. An in-ground spa is built at the same level as the pool, connected by a shared wall. Both options can be added to an existing pool. Pool Creations evaluates which option works best for your existing pool's layout and your design preferences.
